Hardware Specs

The Mate 40 Pro is probably the last Huawei flagship of its kind due to the current restrictions from the US government. It features a 6.76″ OLED display that pushes a high 2772×1344 pixels resolution and a fluid 90Hz refresh rate.

Powering the device is a top-of-the-line 5nm Kirin 9000 processor with 5G support. It comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB of internal storage.

Continuing the trend from its predecessor, the back gets a huge circular camera bump that houses a triple-camera setup. This include a 50MP f/1.9 main camera, a 20MP utlra-wide-angle shooter and a 12MP f/2.3 periscope telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. For selfies, it gets a 13MP main shooter with a 3D TOF sensor.

Powering the flagship phone is a 4,400mAh battery that supports both 50W fast wireless charging and 66W fast wired charging. Finally, Huawei has also included stereo speakers and it also retains IP68 dust and water resistance.

Out of the box, it runs on EMUI 11 based on Android 10. However, it doesn’t come with Google apps and services pre-installed. To download apps, you’ll need to use Huawei AppGallery or side-load apps via the Petal Search widget that’s pre-installed.
