redONE, the barebones postpaid MVNO is now offering the cheapest talk in town with their Voice 48 plan. For those who are looking for just unlimited voice calls and nothing else, this might be the plan for you.
For RM48/month, the Voice 48 plan gives you unlimited calls to all domestic mobile numbers only. According to the FAQ, calls to fixed lines (e.g. 03-XXXXXXXX) will be charged the normal rate except for toll-free and special numbers. Obviously, IDD and roaming calls are charged separately as well.
Calls to other numbers are charged at 15 sen/minute while SMS are charged at 5 sen each to redONE numbers and 10 sen each to other telcos. Despite not being tied to a device, the Voice 48 plan has a minimum contract period of 6 months.
Since this is a barebones unlimited voice plan, data is sold separately at 1GB for RM20 to 5GB for RM60. If you’re an internet savvy user, you would probably want to consider other postpaid plans that bundle calls and data together. Digi’s Postpaid 68 plan (RM68/month) offers unlimited calls to all networks with 3GB of bundled mobile data. If you need more, U Mobile’s Hero P70 plan at RM70/month gives you unlimited calls and a whopping 15GB of data (inclusive of 8GB extra data that’s valid until 31st December 2016).
In terms of coverage, redONE rides on Celcom’s coverage for both 3G and 4G connectivity. The Voice 48 plan is a time-limited offer from 19 September to 31 December 2016. For more info, head over to redONE”s Voice 48 page.
TM’s mobility brand, webe is finally available to everyone nationwide by the end of this month. The webe postpaid service was initially released only to selected TM customers on 30th June. As usual, there will be just one single plan from RM79/month that offers unlimited calls, sms and data.
The webe plan originally costs RM199/month but they are giving additional RM60 rebate if you’re an existing TM customer and another RM60 off if you’re using a 4G LTE 850MHz compatible handset. We are told that 60-70% of 4G smartphones today supports 850MHz (band 5). So if you’re not a TM customer, you’ll need to pay RM139/month. During sign up, there will be a RM106 (inclusive of GST) upfront payment which will be used to knock off your subsequent bills.
Although calls, sms and data are unlimited, tethering will come as an additional cost at RM6 for 2 hours. Webe says that it is necessary to curb abuse as the plan offers true uncapped internet usage. Nevertheless, they noted these concerns and they are looking into other ways of packaging tethering to its postpaid offering.
According to webe, they want to differentiate themselves from other telcos with a full end to end digital experience. This starts from the sign up process where you can order a SIM online and have it delivered on the same day depending on area. If you place an order in the morning, webe aims to have it delivered in the afternoon if you’re located at key market areas. For those who prefer to walk in, customers can visit their webe stores located in Sunway Pyramid, Johor and Penang or drop by at any TM point outlets.
For help at anytime, webe is also introducing a self care app for both Android and iOS. You can use this to manage your account details, purchase tethering pass and also to seek help. Instead of calling a hotline number, you can live chat with a customer service representative directly from the app.
As a power user that occasionally need connectivity across multiple devices, I find the chargeable tethering as a hindrance. This is the first time a postpaid plan in Malaysia limits your data usage beyond your smartphone. For RM139/month (non-TM) and RM79/month (TM), webe is still the only postpaid plan that offers everything unlimited with exception of using your phone as a hotspot. They added that their value proposition is their additional supplementary line options. An extra line costs RM69/month and you can get a 3rd and 4th line at RM59/month and RM49/month respectively. Assuming there’s a family of four with Unifi or Streamyx, that comes out to RM64/month per line with unlimited calls, SMS and data.
When asked about their coverage, webe is proud to have access to 850MHz, 2300MHz and 2600MHz spectrum, which will enable them to cover both wider footprint and capacity demands. Without going into specific coverage details, they have their own 4G coverage sites and for everywhere else, it rides on Celcom’s 2G/3G network as part of its domestic roaming. So even though the network is new, they have got you covered from day 1.
If you’re interested, you can register yourself on 30 September beginning 9:30AM at their website. You’re able to choose your preferred number during sign up and it will be open to all users nationwide.
If you’re a MaxisONE Plan subscriber and currently enjoying Spotify Music, we have some bad news for you. Maxis is stopping its free Spotify Premium subscription and existing subscribers will be charged the full amount during the next renewal effective 23 October 2016.
In case you didn’t know, Maxis was offering all MaxisONE Plan subscribers (RM98 and above) free Spotify Premium subscription plus 15GB of music streaming data. For others subscribers, you can get a discounted subscription fee of only RM9.99/month instead of the usual RM14.90/month.
At time of writing, there’s no notice on Maxis Spotify promo page but Maxis had sent the SMS above informing of the new change. You can continue with the subscription but Maxis will charge RM14.90 to your bill. On top of that, they are also reducing the music streaming quota from 15GB to 3GB/month.
UPDATE: Maxis has updated their FAQ with a new section called “End of Promotion”. The 3GB music streaming quota will be given to eligible MaxisONE customers regardless whether you subscribe to Spotify via Maxis or directly. The 3GB quota is only for principal lines and is not applicable for supplementary accounts.
This sudden change comes as a surprise as Spotify is the biggest content differentiator for Maxis. Other telcos are also beefing up their content services by offering free video/music streaming with extended trials for selected subscription. Even U Mobile offers unlimited video streaming that covers almost all the major platforms.
If you’re thinking of continuing with your Spotify subscription, you probably might want to consider the Spotify Family Plan that costs RM22.40/month and it can be used for up to 6 individuals.
Malaysians can now place their iPhone 7 pre-orders from the big 4 telcos in country – Celcom, Digi, Maxis and U Mobile. So which plan gives you more internet and most importantly, which offers a better deal?
To make your decision making easier, we compare all the plans along with its bundled calls, sms, data and subsidised iPhone pricing. Head after the break for the full iPhone 7 contract comparison.
Getting an iPhone 7/7 Plus is less complicated than before. There are a total of 11 plan options which is half of what was offered with the iPhone 6s. All options are tied with a 24-month contract duration and you get more than 10GB of data for plans above RM100.
For Maxis, they are bundling the iPhone 7 with its recently upgraded MaxisONE Plan that comes with more data, while U Mobile is still offering the familiar iPlans that’s also applicable for prepaid subscribers. Celcom and Digi have made things even easier by offering just 2 postpaid options.
Instead of focusing on the device price itself, we would advise taking a plan that works for you within your monthly postpaid budget. Apart from the amount of calls, sms and data, other factors to consider is network quality and coverage which varies depending on location. Since you’re going to be tied for 2 years, you might as well go with the telco that works best in your area. You may click on the image below for a clearer view.
iPhone 7/7 Plus plans (under RM130)
iPhone 7/7 Plus plans (RM130 and above)
During registration, all 4 telcos would require an advance payment which will be used to offset your future bills. You could waive this payment depending on each respective telco. Some would waive it if you opt for their auto debit billing via credit card while other telcos would do so if you’re an existing customer with good payment records. If you don’t want to fork out a large sum for the device, some telcos do offer 0% interest easy payment options with selected credit cards.
In case you missed it, the iPhone 7 will be officially available next Friday, 14th October throughout Malaysia. Instead of queuing up for the midnight countdown, telcos such as Maxis and Digi are offering deliveries on the day itself. Alternatively, there are also midnight pickup services at selected telco outlets.
For those who refused to be tied to a contract, you can also purchase the iPhone 7 outright at authorised Apple resellers nationwide. Machines, EpiCentre and Switch have announced that they will be offering the latest iPhone 7 at their stores next Friday. Alternatively, Apple will also allow you to order the iPhone 7 from their online store with free delivery. At the moment, pre-orders isn’t available on their online store yet and you might be able to do so sometime next week.
As usual, if you spot any errors or typos on the table above, do let us know in the comments below.
Digi has revamped its postpaid offering again and this time, it offers twice the amount of data than before. Previously packing 10GB of data and unlimited calls for RM80/month, the new revamped Postpaid 80 now comes with 20GB of data for the same price.
Looks like they are doubling up what Celcom has to offer with its current FIRST Gold.
Similar to Celcom, Digi is still doing the weekend data split. The Postpaid 80 gives 10GB of data for all day usage and another 10GB of 4G data for the weekends. The good news is they are not splitting the weekend data per week so you are able to utilise the full quota even on a single weekend. Since it is 4G, any usage on 3G during the weekends will utilise your all-day bucket.
Calls are unlimited to all networks and Digi is also bundling 300 SMS to all networks. If you can’t finish your data, you can roll over up to 2GB to the following month.
For those who travel to Singapore regularly, Digi is also offering Border Roaming add-on where you get 5GB of data and 60 minutes of voice calls for just RM5/month. It is also hinted that Internet Sharing with unlimited phone calls for supplementary lines will be offered soon.
Apart from Digi Postpaid 80, they are also offering a more affordable plan with 10GB of data (5GB + 5GB 4G weekend) at RM50/month. For heavy duty users, Digi Postpaid 110 gives you 40GB of data (20GB + 20GB 4G Weekend) at RM110/month. Digi Postpaid 50 comes bundled with 100 minutes of calls and 100 SMS, while Postpaid 110 comes with Unlimited Calls and 1,000 SMS.
These new plans are available starting today but unfortunately it isn’t available for phone bundles like the new iPhone 7. For more information, head over to Digi’s Postpaid page.
Celcom has once again revamped its FIRST Postpaid plans following Digi’s recent new postpaid refresh. Not only they are offering more mobile data but they are also giving you the option to combine both allday and weekend quota for greater freedom.
The popular FIRST Gold Postpaid Plan at RM80/month now gets twice the amount of data (20GB) with 10GB all day and another 10GB for weekend use. If that’s not enough, you can double up again with Gold PLUS plan (40GB) which gives you 20GB of all day and 20GB of weekend data for only RM98/month. Meanwhile, its top tier FIRST Platinum Plan at RM150/month now offers a whopping 60GB of data which is split between 30GB all day and 30GB for weekend use.
While unlimited calls are still retained across FIRST Gold and Platinum plans, Celcom no longer lets you carry forward unused data to the following month. All existing FIRST Gold and FIRST Platinum subscribers will be upgraded to these new plans automatically without extra charge by 1 November. The entry-level FIRST Blue postpaid plan remains unchanged and it still retains the same 2GB + 2GB (weekend) data bundle with 50 minutes of calls and 50 SMS for RM45/month.
When it comes to data, having split quotas can be annoying especially when Celcom splits the weekend data on a weekly basis. So if you have 10GB of weekend data, that’s 2.5GB per weekend and you can’t carry forward unused data to the following weekend. For greater freedom, Celcom has introduced its AnydayGB add-on at RM10/month. This would combine both all day and weekend data, allowing you to maximise your data allocation without any weekday/weekend restrictions. As always, the new plans are offered for a limited time and it’s valid until 31 December 2016.
It looks like our Malaysian telcos have engaged in yet another round of postpaid price war. Now you can easily get at least 20GB of data for less than RM100/month from Celcom, Digi and U Mobile. This is good news for consumers and we’ll see if Maxis will respond to this.
During the press event, Celcom CMO Zalman Aefendy Zainal Abidin has also shared that the Celcom FIRST postpaid app will be ready by end of next month. At the moment, the app is currently available as a beta download.
The original Hero postpaid plan from U Mobile has been extended once again. Originally the Hero Postpaid P70 plan came with just 7GB of data but it was upgraded to a whopping 15GB/month as a limited time promo. The extra 8GB data offer was supposed to end by end of this year and now it has been extended for another full year until 31 December 2017.
To recap, the P70 plan gives you unlimited calls and 15GB of data for only RM70/month. It was the plan that shook up the postpaid segment and they have raised the bar further by offering 7GB of Video-Onz video streaming quota. Unlike other postpaid plans, you can utilise all 15GB anytime without any weekend or offpeak restrictions. If you need more, there’s the P98 plan at RM98/month which gives you a whopping 30GB of data and unlimited video-onz.
Also extended is its Video-Onz offer which gives you extra quota just for video streaming on both postpaid and prepaid internet plans. So if you’re getting 2GB of internet, U Mobile adds another 2GB just for video. The Video-onz service now supports over 20 video platforms which includes YouTube, Netflix, iFlix, Facebook Video and more. Similar to the P70 plan, the Video-Onz offer is extended until 31 December 2017.
For more info, head over to U Mobile’s postpaid and Video-Onz pages.
After Celcom and Digi revamped their postpaid plans, Maxis has quietly made some upgrades of their own. For those who are still on their legacy data-only SurfMore plans, you should be getting additional 2GB of data on both SurfMore 50 and 75.
The highest SurfMore 75 plan that originally comes with 5GB of data at RM75/month is now bumped up to 7GB. You also get 2GB extra data for TVNow which lets you stream videos from hopster, iflix, tonton, ErosNow and viu.
Also upgraded is their SurfMore 50 (RM50/month) plan which recently got upgraded to 3GB/month a couple of months ago. It now gets 5GB of data plus 2GB of TVNow streaming.
SurfMore 75 was discontinued some time back and it now appears that Maxis has discontinued SurfMore 50 as well. You can’t find any pages related to SurfMore on Maxis website and all search results on Google return a 404 page. So far there’s no indication that Maxis will upgrade their MaxisONE plans anytime soon.
Webe, TM’s mobility arm is throwing a new limited time promotion for its unlimited everything postpaid plan. Originally priced at RM199, the webe postpaid plan is now offered at only RM79/month to everyone including non-TM subscribers.
Previously, webe is offered from RM79/month but only if you fulfill two conditions. One, you’ll need to be an existing TM customer (P1/Streamyx/Unifi) and secondly, you have to use a “webe certified” phone. Just because your phone supports FDD LTE 850MHz, doesn’t necessary mean that it is certified by webe. For example, at time of posting, the Huawei P9 Plus and Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 are certified but the Huawei P9 and Xiaomi Mi 5 isn’t. You can refer to the list of certified phone here.
To recap, the webe postpaid plan gives you unlimited data, local calls and SMS. However, tethering will cost you RM6 for 2 hours of usage which can be enabled from the webe app. With this new promotion, you get RM120 off its normal rate which brings down the monthly subscription to RM79/month. During registration, you’ll need to pay an upfront payment of RM106 which will be used to offset your bill.
For supplementary lines, webe offers a discount based on the number of lines you register. For the 2nd line, it will cost RM69/month and it can go down to RM49/month for the 4th line onwards.
It makes more sense for webe to extend its RM79/month offering to the public since consumers are getting spoiled with huge data quotas for less than RM100/month. U Mobile currently offers 30GB on its Hero Postpaid P98 while Digi now offers 20GB of data (10GB + 10GB weekend) for RM80/month. Celcom too has revamped their FIRST postpaid offering with 20GB of data (10GB + 10GB weekend) for RM80/month and 40GB of data (20GB + 20GB weekend) for RM98/month. Furthermore, all the other telcos allow you to tether your internet with no extra charges.
If you’re looking for a new phone, Maxis is offering smartphones for only RM1. This covers a variety of models from Huawei, Samsung, ZTE, Alcatel, ASUS and OPPO.
The RM1 smartphone promo is applicable with a 24-month contract on MaxisONE Plan. The selection of phones will vary depending on which plan you’re on. On the base MaxisONE 98 Plan, you get a choice of 5 devices which includes the Samsung Galaxy J3 and Acer Liquid Z630, and you’ll get more options if you’re on a higher plan.
The OPPO F1s and Huawei P9 Lite are available on MaxisONE 158 while the Huawei P9 flagship can be yours on MaxisONE 188. Existing MaxisOne customers with a contract are also eligible to take up this offer if they have less than 3 months remaining.
The Maxis 4G Pocket WiFi worth RM299 can be yours at RM1 with a 24-month contract on MaxisONE Plan plus a 12-month contract on Pocket WiFi plan. You’ll get a RM30 rebate for the Pocket WiFi on 24-month contract but that’s only applicable if you don’t have an existing MaxisONE Plan contract. In addition, they are also offering a Google Chromecast for RM1 if you sign up with MaxisONE Home.
From the looks of it, Maxis isn’t going to respond to the recent postpaid upgrades by Celcom and Digi. During the last MaxisONE upgrade, their MaxisONE postpaid offering had surpassed 1 million subscribers and they are about to hit the 1.5 million marker soon. To recap, MaxisONE Plan starts from RM98/month with 5GB of data, unlimited calls and SMS, and it gets incremental 5GB more for every RM30/month extra (e.g. MaxisONE 128, 158 and 188).
For more info, head over to Maxis’s Power of One promo page.
Need lots of data without paying through the nose? U Mobile is still the postpaid leader when it comes to delivering the best value in town.
Recently, other telcos have started to get generous on data but they are still nowhere close to what U Mobile has to offer. Unconvinced? Let’s run down the plan offering one by one.
1. Use your data anytime you want
U Mobile gives you true freedom to use your data. On U Mobile Hero Postpaid P70, you get 15GB of data and unlimited calls for RM70/month. That’s 15GB that you can use anytime and anywhere without any restrictions.
Other telcos will try to convince you that they have more data. However, if you take a closer look, they are often split half between weekday and weekend use. On Digi, the weekend data is only usable if you’re on 4G. Why let others decide how you use your data?
2. Video-Onz is the best for video junkies
U Mobile gives you free data just to stream video online. Video-Onz lets you catch up on your favourite YouTube videos and TV series without consuming your precious data. On Hero Postpaid P70, you get 7GB quota just for videos alone.
On U Mobile Hero P98, you can binge watch freely with unlimited Video-Onz. No other telco in Malaysia gives you this much freedom to enjoy videos.
Digi on the other hand offers add-on video passes where you can purchase a RM1 pass for 1 hour or RM5 pass for 24 hours of video streaming. If you compare their list of channels, U Mobile supports more than twice the amount of video platforms on Video-onz.
3. More usable data on U Mobile
When you combine Hero Postpaid P70’s 15GB data with 7GB of Video-Onz, that’s a whopping 22GB of internet that you can use anytime for only RM70/month. As a comparison, you only get 20GB of data on Digi and even on Celcom’s new postpaid plan. In case you missed it, U Mobile has extended its 15GB data and Video-Onz promo until 31st December 2017.
4. Use your local postpaid data when you travel overseas
Travel a lot? Say goodbye to daily roaming charges with U Mobile Data Backpack. If you’re on Hero Postpaid P70 and P98, you can stay connected overseas in 12 countries for free without expensive data roaming charges.
On Digi, they are offering border roaming for Singapore which will cost you RM5/month on Postpaid 80 and it’s free for subscribers on Postpaid 110. For everywhere else, it will cost you RM36/day to stay connected .
Why restrict yourself to Singapore when you can travel while staying connected in more countries for free? Just switch on your phone, and you’re connected worry free with no activation required.
5. All this for RM10 cheaper each month
Overall, you get so much more when you’re on U Mobile. Compared to Digi’s Postpaid 80, U Mobile gives more usable data that you can use anytime for RM10 less each month. That’s RM120 savings each year and you get ultimate freedom to use your data. So what are you waiting for? Get more of what you love with U Mobile Hero Postpaid.
The mighty iPhone 7 has arrived and there are plenty of ways to get it in Malaysia. If you’re looking for the best deal, look no further. U Mobile is still the best way to buy the latest iPhone and here are 7 reasons why.
1. Own any iPhone from just RM88/month
Don’t want to fork out huge sum of cash upfront? U Mobile lets you own your dream iPhone 7 with RM0 upfront and 0% interest on UPackage. You can take home an iPhone 7 of any capacity (32GB, 128GB or 256GB) for only RM88/month for the first year. The bigger iPhone 7 Plus can be yours too for just an extra RM20/month. To learn more, visit U Mobile’s UPackage page.
2. Most affordable iPhone 7 plans in Malaysia
Most telcos bundle their iPhone 7 with expensive plans of at least RM98/month. On U Mobile, there are more affordable options from as low as RM40/month to RM130/month. All plans come with bundled data, calls and SMS. In addition, U Mobile is offering extra Video-Onz quota for all your video streaming needs.
3. Lowest cost of ownership for data and unlimited calls all-in
Having a subsidised iPhone 7 is only half the story. When you include both subscription fees and device price, you’ll find that U Mobile offers the lowest cost of ownership among all telcos in Malaysia.
On U Mobile, owning an iPhone 7 32GB on i90 plan costs just RM4,579 (with 6% GST) while Digi and Celcom cost at least RM4,706 and RM4,675 respectively. Below is a detailed comparison of the lowest postpaid plans with unlimited voice calls for each iPhone 7 model.
4. Best instalment plan without locking your credit limit
UPackage isn’t your average 0% interest instalment plan. Unlike other EPP plans, U Mobile does not lock up your card’s credit limit upfront. You’ll be billed accordingly each month and this frees up your credit card for other expenses.
5. Hear the difference with WiFi Calling
Digi have just introduced VoLTE that delivers crystal clear voice calls for iPhone but that only works if you’re on their 4G LTE network. U Mobile has WiFi Calling and it works on any WiFi network. So even if your reception is less ideal, you still can make voice calls loud and clear over a WiFi connection.
That’s not all, you can also use WiFi Calling to call back Malaysia without incurring roaming charges. Incoming calls are free and you can call Malaysian numbers at local rates when traveling overseas.
6. No Data Roaming charges in 12 countries
U Mobile also lets you stay connected in 12 countries for free with its Data Backpack. Instead of paying daily roaming rates, you can stay connected using your home data quota in Australia, Hong Kong, India, Singapore and more. Now that’s more freedom for traveling.
7. Still cheaper than buying outright
Dislike contracts? U Mobile is the only telco in Malaysia that offers the iPhone 7 on prepaid.
During registration, you’ll need to pay for the subsidised iPhone price + upfront payment + top up RM159 to your prepaid account. Even with all that included, it is still cheaper than retail price.
An iPhone 7 32GB costs just RM3,027 all-in instead of RM3,199 and an iPhone 7 Plus 256GB can be yours for RM4,458 instead of RM4,799. Check out the comparison below:
You can continue with the prepaid plan or stop at any time since it isn’t tied to a contract. Do note that you’ll lose out on the monthly rebates should you decide to terminate early.
Whether it is postpaid or prepaid, outright or on instalments, nobody offers the iPhone 7 better than U Mobile. For more information, visit U Mobile’s iPhone 7 page.
Last week, webe had revealed that they are opening up their postpaid plan to everyone for only RM79/month. For better clarity, its CMO Lai Shu Wei has released a video announcement this morning.
webe will be available for just one price, RM79/month. This is regardless of where you are, who you are (TM or non-TM subscribers) and whatever smartphone you’re using. They are doing away their old criteria that requires you to own a webe-certified device.
The promotion will be offered from now until end of this year (presumably 31st December 2016). Once you’ve signed up, the RM79/month offer will be yours forever until you unsubscribe. For those who have signed up since 30th September, the RM79/month promotion is applicable to you as well. Do note that tethering is still chargable at RM6.00 for 2 hours of usage. Data roaming overseas on webe is also available at RM39/day for 18 selected countries.
Just when you thought Maxis is keeping quiet with the recent postpaid price war, they have just announced yet another massive upgrade for its MaxisONE Plan. This applies across the board and you get a minimum of 20GB on the base MaxisONE Plan 98.
Following the trend of most postpaid plans, Maxis is also doing an all-day and weekend data split for its data quota. At the very least, you get more data for all day use. Do note that the weekend data is for 4G only and you can use it freely without any weekly splits. You do get unlimited calls and unlimited SMS across all options.
For MaxisONE Share (RM48/month), each line gets 5GB of all-day data plus additional 5GB of weekend data. Maxis allows all principal and supplementary lines to share their quota with their DataPool feature however this is only applicable for all-day bucket. Any data on the weekend bucket will not be shared across other lines.
Maxis says that all customers will be upgraded beginning 15 until 18 November 2016 and the extra quota is permanent for life. For more info, head over to the MaxisONE plan page.
The postpaid space is getting more competitive than ever. For RM80/month, both Digi and Celcom offers 20GB/month. Meanwhile, U Mobile is still holding on with its P70 and P98 postpaid plans that offer 15GB and 30GB respectively. Even new comer webe has just thrown a new promotion offering everyone unlimited data, calls and SMS for RM79/month.
What do you think of these new plans? Let us know in the comments below.
Celcom had recently given its postpaid plans a massive upgrade, offering up to 60GB data for RM150/month. Now they are turning its attention to FIRST Blue postpaid users and they are finally giving it the upgrade it deserves.
Offered at RM45/month, Celcom FIRST Blue originally came with 4GB of data (2GB all-day + 2GB weekend), 50 minutes of calls and 50 SMS per month. If you’re an existing subscriber, you should be getting an SMS above informing that your plan will be upgraded to 10GB of data (5GB all-day + 5GB weekend). The allocation of 50 minutes of calls and 50 SMS per month remains unchanged.
At time of posting, this new upgrade isn’t reflected yet on Celcom’s website. They could be in the process of upgrading all existing customers before offering it for new sign ups. From what we heard, this is available first for subscribers that signed up before 28 October 2016.
With this 10GB for RM45/month offering, Celcom is trying to match Digi’s new postpaid 50 plan which also offers 10GB of data (5GB all day + 5GB 4G weekend) plus 100 minutes of calls for RM50/month. For U Mobile, their HERO Postpaid P50 offers 5GB of all-day data + 5GB of Video-ONZ and 50 minutes of calls for the same price. Meanwhile, on Maxis, existing SurfMore 50 (RM50/month) customers were recently upgraded from 3GB to 5GB of data and it now comes with 2GB of TVNow video stremaing.
The best postpaid plans in town just got even better and bigger. If the typical big data plans aren’t enough, Celcom FIRST now gives you even more for less.
More than data than before
FIRST GOLD now offers a whopping of 20GB of data per month. That’s double of the previous plan and you get 10GB of weekday data plus another 10GB just for the weekends. You’ll also get unlimited calls, unlimited instant messaging and unlimited Yonder music, all for only RM80/month.
Still hungry for more data? Celcom has also introduced its FIRST GOLD PLUS which offers 40GB (20GB weekday + 20GB weekend) for RM98/month. That’s twice the amount of data for only RM18 extra. Nobody else gives you 40GB of data for less than RM100/month.
For those who seek the ultimate, FIRST PLATINUM plan is significantly upgraded from 18GB to 60GB of data each month. On top of that, you’ll still enjoy unlimited calls, SMS and instant message (WhatsApp and WeChat). As a bonus, FIRST PLATINUM also comes with free unlimited access to iflix for 12 months.
Weekend or Weekday? Use data your way
For those who seek ultimate freedom, Celcom now lets you maximise your monthly data with its AnyDayGB add-on. For just RM10/month extra, you can combine both weekday and weekend data in a single bucket. If you’re on Celcom FIRST GOLD PLUS, that’s RM108/month for 40GB of data that you can use any day of the week.
Experience faster internet with Celcom’s Ultrafast 4G Territory
Celcom is continuously upgrading its network in pursuit of building the most advanced 4G network in the country. With its current nationwide modernisation exercise, customers can expect faster speeds, better stability and a seamless internet experience.
Isn’t it time to go BIGGER
The new FIRST Postpaid plans offer the most data in town, so why settle for less? webe is currently having a fantastic promotion where everyone can sign up for RM79/month with no added conditions. Did you know that webe gets even better when you get your friends and family on board? Read on to find out why.
1. Non-stop entertainment
Stream your favourite videos and music to your heart’s content with webe’s never ending data. Whether it is iflix, Netflix, YouTube, Spotify or any entertainment platform, you can truly enjoy them all non-stop wherever you are without quotas. So, no more downloading offline music or videos at home using WiFi. If you want it now, just hit play!
2. Don’t fight over data
The good stuff shouldn’t be limited just to the principal line. With webe, all supplementary lines enjoy the same never-ending benefits including data.
There’s no quota to manage and you won’t need to decide who gets to use how much data each month. That also means you’ll never run out of data – so you can surf, stream and download without worrying about limits. Now that’s true freedom!
3. The more you share, the more you save
Good things are meant to be shared and you can enjoy more discounts if you get more members onto webe. Each line gets the same never-ending calls, text and data, plus you get incremental RM10/month off for each subsequent line you add (up to 4th line).
For a family of five, this calculates to an average of RM61/month (before GST) per person which is unbeatable value!
4. Worry free billing
Receiving your postpaid bill with multiple lines can be shocking. Some may make more calls and sometimes you may top up more data as and when needed. Since webe offers never-ending calls, SMS and data for all accounts, it is almost impossible to get extra charges, unless if someone adds on tethering, make IDD calls or use their mobile overseas.
On most cases, there shouldn’t be any surprises and you can expect to pay the same amount each month for you and your family. This means less worrying and more freedom to enjoy the things you love.
So, what’s holding you back? It’s time to set you and your entire family free with webe.
